ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The 2009 Annual Meeting of the Neighborhood Association was held on Saturday May 9, 2009. At that meeting, the following directors were elected (alphabetically): Susan Chi, Sally Cloar, Alan Cowles, Mark O'Lear and Harris Tate. The following officers were also continued in office: Harris Tate, President, Mark O'Lear, Vice President, Sally Cloar, Secretary and Susan Chi, Treasurer. For information about the directors and officers, see General Information.
Boy Scout Ryan Marienau and Troop 59 have completed a very fine trail on the west side of DeVictor Park. The trail is a loop, on the west side of the creek, which starts and ends in the playground area at the corner or Harvard and George Williams Way. We recommend you visit the park and enjoy the trail. The Neighborhood Association and the City of Lawrence thank Ryan and his troop for all their hard work;
Christina Hoxie, Stephanie Mott and
Neil Steiner have created a beautiful plan for the playground
across the street from Langston-Hughes Elementary School.
Their presentation is posted below. For best viewing, open
the presentation in a window on the left side of your screen and
the narration in a second window on the right side of your screen
and review them together. We will encourage the City to
provide funds to complete the playground and other features of
DeVictor Park in the near future.
